Our practice is proud to be associated with the training of clinicians.

It is not uncommon to have trainee nurses, Medical Students and doctors working with us.

We regularly have GP Registrars placed with us by the Royal College of General Practice. A Registrar is a fully qualified doctor, who will have two placements of six months each, in two different General Practices for their first year as a General Practitioner.  We also occasionally have medical students on clinical placements prior to them graduating as doctors.

At times a GP may have an assessor with them as part of their ongoing training. You will be asked if you are happy for the assessor to be present and patients have the right to decline. Our GP’s are most appreciative when patients are happy for the assessor to be present.

Nursing Students training at NMIT, also come into the practice to learn from our very competent nurses.

We also mentor other health professionals from time to time.
