Stoke Medical Centre is pleased to be part of a comprehensive health team providing for the community.
We work closely with other health professionals including:
Dietician - Naomi Johnson
Naomi is employed by Nelson Bays Primary Health. She attends the Stoke Medical Centre once a fortnight and is happy to see patients for diet and nutritional advice. To make an appointment with the Dietician phone Stoke Medical Centre on 547 7488.
Counsellor - Peter Brunt
My name is Peter. I come to counselling from a career teaching adults, but have been counselling clients for more than thirty years. I hold a Master of Counselling degree from Massey University, Palmerston North.
I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors with my practice being guided by the Code of Ethics of this Association. Confidentiality is a key concern. Critical to my counselling practice is the fact that I am supervised by an accredited supervisor. I meet with her for clinical supervision on a regular basis.
While I am a general counsellor working with folk with issues like depression, anxiety, grief and loss, I also specialise in relationships, sexuality and intimacy issues.
Therapy sessions last for 50 to 60 minutes. The frequency of sessions is arranged for each client as she or he requires. My fees are per session for a person or a couple. For those on a benefit or low income funding is available through Work and Income. You may be eligible for a referral through your GP and funded by the regional PHO.
Appointments may be made at the Stoke Medical Centre, 470 Main Road Stoke - phone 03 5477488
